About Greenland News
Greenland News is the first and only Greenland media in English.
We exist to tell Greenland’s stories accurately, responsibly, and in our own voice.
Greenland News was created to connect Greenland with the world. Our mission is to report on what happens in Greenland as it happens, and to give space to the people who live here, work here, and are affected by decisions made here.
What We Do
Greenland News covers news, culture, politics, climate, business, and everyday life in Greenland. We report on major developments and small, human stories alike.
We publish breaking news, investigations, analysis, commentary, video reporting, and first-person perspectives. We also amplify voices from across Greenland and the Greenlandic diaspora, welcoming contributions from citizens, journalists, researchers, and creatives.
Our platform is global in reach, while remaining rooted in Greenland.
Why We Exist
Greenland is at the center of global conversations about geopolitics, climate change, resources, culture, and the Arctic future.
We believe Greenland deserves journalism that is grounded in local knowledge, independent of political and commercial pressure, and open to many voices and perspectives.
Our Editorial Principles
Greenland News is editorially independent. We do not serve governments, corporations, or special interests. Advertising and partnerships never influence our reporting, and sponsored content is clearly labeled.
We believe journalism should inform, not inflame; explain, not simplify; listen, not assume.
We are committed to ethical reporting, especially when covering sensitive issues, Indigenous perspectives, and vulnerable communities.
Community-Driven Journalism
Greenland News is built with and for its audience. We invite readers to submit stories, videos, tips, opinions, and on-the-ground reporting. You do not need to be a journalist to contribute—only engaged, honest, and respectful.
Our newsroom is open to collaboration. We see journalism as something done with communities, not to them.
Who We Serve
We serve people living in Greenland, Greenlanders abroad, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Greenland beyond headlines and stereotypes. Our readers include local communities, policymakers, researchers, journalists, educators, travelers, and global audiences following Arctic issues.
Looking Ahead
Greenland is changing socially, politically, environmentally, and economically. Greenland News will continue to evolve alongside it, experimenting with new formats, technologies, and ways of storytelling, while staying anchored in our core mission: to provide independent, trustworthy journalism from Greenland.
